Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit to Montgomery County Criminal History, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use this private website, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those query terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email or other direct message as needed to respond. It is kept within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive limited technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Device type and operating system
  • The referring site, when available
  • Browser name and version
  • Time spent on pages
  • The device's IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. Together with analytics services, they help us measure traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
  • Operating the site and improving load performance
  • Routing search requests to the selected outside service
  • Measuring which pages are useful or need improvement
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our pages explain how to reach MCSO, Montgomery County courts, TBI Criminal Justice Information Services, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Public access to government records is governed by the Tennessee Public Records Act, TCA §§10-7-501 et seq., including access and confidentiality provisions in TCA §§10-7-503 and 10-7-504. Those government records are not stored here. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor data is not turned into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes found on this site. Their privacy policies, not this policy, govern information entered into those tools. We do not control a provider's retention or sharing practices, so review its terms before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Montgomery County offices, Clarksville agencies, Tennessee portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:

  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
  • Outside search providers chosen to process a query
  • Advertising networks that serve content on our pages
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process

How We Protect Your Data

We use customary safeguards for information in our control. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Privacy and consumer-protection rights vary by residence. The Tennessee Public Records Act, TCA §§10-7-501 et seq., applies to records maintained by government offices and does not turn this private site's visitor data into a county public record. Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request deletion of personal data we hold
  • Ask what personal information we maintain about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Object to certain forms of processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. A new version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date.
